Republic FC x Futsi 3v3: A Huge Moment for NorCal Futsal

Futsi x Republic FC 3v3 Tournament

On April 25, Sacramento Republic FC and Futsi are linking up for the first-ever Republic FC x Futsi 3v3 Tournament at Heart Health Park. If you care about the future of futsal and street football in Northern California, this is a date you need to circle.

The Details

3v3, no goalkeeper, 8-minute games. Teams carry up to 6 players with unlimited subs. Group stage across 3 courts, knockout rounds at noon, and the championship final played at halftime of Republic FC vs. Spokane Velocity, on the pitch, in front of the crowd.

Every player gets a limited-edition Futsi x Republic FC game bib and a match ticket. The top 4 teams advance to Futsi’s NorCal Qualifying Tournament in July with a direct path to the Street Football World Cup.

Why This Matters

Futsal and street football have been the backbone of player development worldwide for decades, but in the U.S. they’ve always been treated as secondary. Pickup games, cage matches, street leagues. This is where creativity lives and players develop their touch, vision, and ability to play in tight spaces. But rarely does it get institutional support.

When a USL Championship club puts its name and stadium behind a street football tournament and connects it to an international pathway through Futsi, it sends a message. This isn’t recreation. This is real competition.

For the NorCal futsal community, this is validation. The grassroots scene is getting a seat at the table.
